Not for Kids Warning Symbol
Not For Kids Warning Symbol Adopted in Washington – The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board adopted the long awaited “not for kids” warning label and will require it to be on all edible cannabis products sold in the state, effective February 14, 2017.
What do the rules require?
The LCB gives three compliance options for producers to include the image in their product packaging:
- The digital image can be incorporated onto labels for marijuana edible products;
- The digital image may be downloaded and used to print stickers for placement on the front of marijuana edible products; or
- Licensees may choose to purchase stickers of the “Not for Kids” warning symbol for placement on the front of marijuana edible products.
Producers must place the unaltered symbol or sticker on all packaging by Valentine’s Day 2017. This requirement is in addition to the other various requirements and prohibitions for information on cannabis product packaging.
