Habib Bentaleb

As a San Francisco cannabis attorney, Habib represents clients both in and outside of the legal marijuana, CBD, and hemp industry. Habib is Gleam Law’s main attorney for our California cases. He advises clients in everything from choosing the appropriate entity structure for their business, structuring ownership and raising capital to drafting and negotiating contracts, joint ventures, strategic alliances and licensing agreements. He also specializes in cannabis business law, including due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance.

Due to the complexities of the cannabis industry, Habib spends a great amount of time getting to know his clients and their businesses. In doing so, Habib develops a greater insight into his client’s day-to-day operations and legal needs than most California cannabis lawyers. He is then able to handle a client’s legal matters efficiently and economically.

He regularly speaks at industry conferences and bar associations on the latest legal issues in the cannabis industry. He is an active member of the National Cannabis Bar Association, the California Cannabis Industry Association, the California Growers Association, and the Sonoma County Growers Association. Habib received his J.D. and a certificate in International and Comparative Law from DePaul University in Chicago, where he was also named a Sullivan Fellow with the Human Rights Institute to study the legal regimes of Middle Eastern and North African countries.
