Roger E. Goodman

Roger is a Seattle cannabis attorney and nationally recognized drug policy reformer. He has dedicated over a decade to cannabis policy reform issues, and he specializes in cannabis licensing. Roger’s invaluable insight, combined with his focus on legal marijuana, hemp, and CBD business development and government relations, helps our clients navigate the increasingly regulated cannabis industry.

Roger is admitted to the bar in Washington State and Rhode Island, the First and Ninth Federal Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. He received an A.B. as a Senior Fellow from Dartmouth College; his J.D. from the George Washington University; and an M.P.A. from Harvard University.

Along with being a celebrated Washington cannabis attorney, Roger is a criminal justice expert and state legislator. He is currently serving his tenth term in the Washington State House from the 45th District, which includes the Seattle suburbs of Kirkland and Redmond. Roger is Chair of the House Public Safety Committee, Chair of the Statute Law Committee. a Senior Member, House Judiciary Committee, and on the House Human Services and Early Learning Committee.

Roger previously served as Director of Washington’s Sentencing Guidelines Commission. In the 1980s and 1990s, he served as Legislative Director, Counsel and Chief of Staff for two senior Democratic Members of the U.S. Congress.
