SB 3, A Proposed New Law That Would Legalize Limited Production And Sale Of Medical Marijuana

The Pennsylvania State House is expected to vote next month on SB3, a proposed new law that would legalize limited production and sale of medical marijuana. SB 3 is far from the gold standard nationally but would go a long way to providing patients safe, reliable, and unmolested access to their medicine.

The law will authorize a limited number of producers and retailers to sell marijuana to treat 15 specified medical conditions, including HIV, AIDS, ALS, Chron’s Disease, and glaucoma. Product strength will most likely be capped at 10% THC, far below the 20%+ average concentration in other states.
